Lower Back Pain

A lot of people suffer from low back pain and the causes can be many and varied.

At this clinic a careful history is taken and orthopaedic and other tests done to rule out any problems that might need referral back to your GP or to a specialist. The alignment of the spine and pelvis is also examined and a range of muscle tests, using the Afferent Input protocol, will be carried out to establish any weakness in the body.

Initial chiropractic treatment for lower back pain

The initial treatment will then be to correct the alignment of the spine and pelvis and allow strength to return to the muscles using gentle chiropractic techniques amongst others.

McTimoney Chiropractic and Afferent Input Muscle Testing are an important part of this, especially in getting to the root of the problem.

Bowen Therapy, massage, stretching and trigger point therapy also used in this clinic, along with rehabilitation exercises for the patient.

Once the body’s alignment is correct and all the supportive muscles firing as they should the injury will normally heal.
